Marshals needed for Cheltenham Challenge to succeed
We need  more marshals for the GB Solutions Cheltenham Challenge event which takes place on Sunday 18th June, 2017.  The success of the event depends on it!
You don't need any experience to be a volunteer marshal.  You just need to be available on the event day and be willing to join in the fun.  We will provide full training and marshal briefings on the run up to the event.
Register as an individual or as a small team.  You can bring your friends, family, children and your dog if that’s what you want to do!  We can place you in an area where you can all marshal together for just a few hours.
It takes about 200 people to ensure the event runs smoothly.  Becoming a GB Solutions Cheltenham Challenge volunteer marshal means you play an active role in the overall success of the event while also allowing you to support your friends, family and charity teams.  It is a fantastic and fun experience.
We need committed volunteers to assist with a number of roles:-
Course Marshal - making sure the participants stay safe and going in the right direction on the course.  Multiple opportunities as an individual or as a team.
Event Village Team – participant bib and timing chip collection, secure baggage, participant and visitor liaison, and car parking.
Ghost Runners – these are teams of runners comprising of two or more runners who run the routes before the event starts to report any issues and approve the route is safe.  Runners need to complete 45 minutes before the actual race starts.  All runners receive a finisher’s medal and a unique Ghost runner T-shirt.  Runners needed for the 10K route (Half Marathon Route already allocated).
Average marshalling times this year will be about 3 hours.  So if you think you or a team from your workplace can help to marshall the event for a few hours, please get in contact with Dave Jones on 01242 228999,, or through the Cheltenham Challenge website.
Working with CCP is much more than just writing a cheque

14th June registration deadline for the Cheltenham Challenge
Registration for the GB Solutions Cheltenham Challenge on Sunday 18th June, 2017, closes on Wednesday 14th June.  We anticipate that the remaining places will sell out before the closing date so register now before it's too late! As of Friday 26th May, there are only 53 places remaining in the 5k, 64 in the 10k, and 86 in the Half Marathon.
The GB Solutions Cheltenham Challenge is a multi-terrain event offering 5k, 10k and Half Marathon distances.  There is something for everyone, including experienced runners, novices, juniors, families, children and walkers.
Managed by CCP, this annual event has raised over half a million pounds for more than 80 charities to date.  You are welcome to use the Cheltenham Challenge to fundraise for CCP or any other charity of your choice, or to get yourself fit, attain a PB, or just for fun!
Calling all green fingers!
This is a call out to anyone - individuals, a workplace team, church or community group, pub group or sports club - who would like to offer their precious time to helping at CCP’s allotment in Cheltenham.
We have a lead volunteer, James Wratten, at our quite sizeable allotment on Hayden Road, just off the Tewkesbury Road, Cheltenham.  James has taken on the huge task of preparing and maintaining the plot, but he can't do it without help!  A one-off day or part of a day is as welcome as individuals or groups who would like to help more frequently.
Any time you could donate would make a big difference towards our dream to grow fresh produce, year round, to complement CCP Foodshare and to supplement the diets of the young homeless people living in our CCP Foyer supported accommodation.
If you would like to visit the allotments and / or have an informal chat with James or Leonie Seaborne (Volunteer Manager), then ring Leonie on 01242 228999 ext 120, 07525 072114, or email
Working at the car wash
A huge thank you to everyone who supported the Charity Car Wash on Friday 5th May.
A brilliant £352  was raised for CCP as teams  from UK Autoglaze and Colour Connection joined forces to wash more than 35 cars in just four and a half hours.
Tadstock 2017 registration now open
